We love Katie. So we were thrilled when the phone rang early one morning and Dave and Katie told us they were engaged!

He proposed to her on a dock in Bellingham Bay one February afternoon, placed a beautiful diamond ring on her finger, and she said Yes. Then they celebrated with friends and family back at Dave's house. We couldn't be there, but we loved hearing about it, and we're very happy for them.

We've enjoyed getting to know Katie over the past couple of years, and she feels like part of the family. We love her joyful spirit, and she never fails to bring laughter to our home. She is a godly young woman who comes from a great family, and we are so pleased that God has brought them together.

They are planning a wedding in September in Katie's home town of Richland, Washington.
